Treatments

Teeth in a Day is available in our Glasgow clinic. This procedure involves dental implants, which is a scientifically proven and well-established method for replacing missing teeth. While this process can often take several months to complete, the latest technology has allowed us to offer this treatment in just one day.

A dental implant is a titanium post (like a tooth root) that is surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line. In some cases, a dental implant simply replaces a missing tooth. However, the implant can also provide stability for a bridge or dentures.

Dental implants also benefit general oral health because they do not have to be anchored to neighboring teeth, so they are untouched. This helps keep the teeth strong and healthy.

At Kalyani Dental Lounge, with the aid of our state of the art 3D scanning technology and digital planning software, we are able to carry out the treatment precisely. With this state of the art technology, we are also able to design and fabricate your future teeth in advance, meaning we can fit natural-looking temporary teeth immediately.

HOW DOES TEETH IN A DAY WORK?

Because implants fuse to your jawbone, they provide stable support for artificial teeth. Dentures and bridges mounted to implants won't slip or shift in your mouth — an especially important benefit when eating and speaking. This secure fit helps the dentures and bridges — as well as individual crowns placed over implants — feel more natural than conventional bridges or dentures.

For some people, ordinary bridges and dentures are simply not comfortable or even possible, due to sore spots, poor ridges or gagging. In addition, ordinary bridges must be attached to teeth on either side of the space left by the missing tooth. An advantage of implants is that no adjacent teeth need to be prepared or ground down to hold your new replacement tooth/teeth in place.

The Teeth in a Day procedure allows us to predesign and prefabricate your new teeth. They will be connected onto the dental implants which have been placed on the very same day. Initially these are a provisional set of teeth that look and feel great. They are then replaced with a permanent set some months later. With the Teeth in a Day technique a full arch of missing teeth can be supported by 4 to 6 implants.

BENEFITS OF TEETH IN A DAY

Your implants and a set of fixed teeth are placed on the same day. No waiting for months for the implants to work before getting fixed teeth.

TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS:

The two types of dental implants include:

    1. Endosteal implants — these are surgically implanted directly into the jawbone. Once the surrounding gum tissue has healed, a second surgery is needed to connect a post to the original implant. Finally, an artificial tooth (or teeth) is attached to the post-individually, or grouped on a bridge or denture.
    2. Subperiosteal implants — these consist of a metal frame that is fitted onto the jawbone just below the gum tissue. As the gums heal, the frame becomes fixed to the jawbone. Posts, which are attached to the frame, protrude through the gums. As with endosteal implants, artificial teeth are then mounted to the posts.
