There are some foods that are just not good for the health of your teeth. Your dentist will tell you that these foods help the bacteria that cause plaque (which leads to cavities) to thrive and proliferate. The worst foods are:

  • Sour hard-boiled and jelly sweets
  • Fizzy drinks
  • Alcohol
  • Bread
  • Citrus fruits
  • Dried fruits
  • Potato crisps
  • Ice

"How can you prevent plaque from wreaking havoc on your mouth? Besides brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing and visiting a dentist regularly, try to avoid or limit the foods listed."
