Proper brushing and flossing of teeth before bedtime is probably the single most important aspect of good dental care. Visiting the dentist regularly -- and following a healthy diet -- are important. But it is the bedtime dental routine that really determines how healthy our teeth and gums are. The most important rules are:

  • Wait at least an hour after eating before flossing and brushing
  • Floss first, brush second
  • Only use a soft-bristled toothbrush
